To search simply enter data or make a selection in one of the above fields; if desired you can use Advanced Search to refine your search further by using a combination of fields. The more information you enter the more specific your results will be.
-
Do not use 'wildcard' characters.
-
Searches are case insensitive: you can use lowercase or capital letters or a combination of both.
-
Separate multiple words with spaces; you do not need to use commas or dashes.
-
Partial words are automatically truncated - that is, the search will find instances of your string of letters at the beginning of whole words. For example, if you enter 'read' as a title the results will include 'reader', 'reading', 'ready' and so on, in addition to all instances of 'read'.
-
Various 'stop-words' are not recognized by the search engine. If you enter words such as 'a', 'the', 'by', 'and', 'not' and so on, these will be ignored when your search request is processed.
- Error messages asking you to 'try again' may appear if you -
- Hit the search button without entering information or making a selection.
- Enter an unrecognised word or a 'stop-word'.
-
If only one title matches your search request you will immediately view the Title Details page which provides full information on that item.
